August 12th to 15th

Dear Diary,

Has it ever occurred to you how days go by so fast when you have things on your plate? Like today it’s Monday and the day after it is already Monday again. Which really supports the expression procrastination is the thief of time.

This past weekend was our first monthsary and people say our honeymoon phase is gradually fading — they say soon, we won’t be this fond of each other. One thing I’ve learned from my other failed relationships is that any relationship that isn’t taken care of eventually dies off.

It’s painful when you come to the realization that you’ve always been the one at fault in your past relationships. Sometimes, we really need to remove the pegs in our own eyes. It’s hard when you discover that you’ve been playing the victim when actually, you were the perpetrator of the pain. That’s how most of us live our lives.

We tend to over-focus on our sides of the story that we somehow believe them because it is our part and normally, we don’t want to be wrong. But how is it possible to not be so self centered? Is the general good really greater than my personal good?

We are losing ourselves to the little pleasures or joy that come our ways but deep down, we have battles we are fighting- fear, low self esteem, chagrin, unemployment, family issues. That’s why we have smiles on our faces and the next moment, we have looks of worry. It happens not only to the best of us, but to all of us. Some people say that life is fair because it is unfair to us all and if many people could understand that no single person has it all figured out, maybe they’d stop focusing on the grass that’s on the other side and start watering theirs.
