Dear Diary,

You know what they say about having a childish grin on when speaking to someone you love or just seeing their call or texts? I’ve been in that phase for over 4 months now and it’s been beautiful for the most part. In all honesty, love is beautiful and having the love that is reciprocated is a big flex. But there might be days when you might not be so plumped up about it and what do you do? It’s easy. Just like days when you’re not so plumped up about life, all you need is to do something that might get you back in the mood like sleeping, eating, taking a stroll or just a glass of water or a cold bath. Or you could just hang in and let that phase slide. I’ve not lived life enough but I’ve been down that path many times to know that it eventually wears off. And as the days go by, I ask myself questions amongst which the most important is “How to keep this love plumped up?”

What to do on the days when everything isn’t as “melrose” as it is now? But with each new worry comes the depreciation of present joy and memories. So I might as well seize the say and live it to the fullest. Like they often say, tomorrow will take care of itself. And with these busy cycles of life come unending worries and innumerable questions. We worry. We ask questions. And we end up being too scared to live life to its fullest.

It makes more sense when you finally meet someone whose soul connects to yours so effortlessly and then you begin to understand why it didn’t(couldn’t) work out with every other person. And then, you start to believe in soul mates and then you know that all the things you once said you couldn’t do, it was simply because you hadn’t yet met the person to make you do these things.

Since Saturday, I’ve been attending the defense of masters projects of some acquaintances and it warmed my heart to see that they have finished new phases in their lives. But as Lil Wayne said in Jenifer Lopez’s “I’m into you”, every finish line is the beginning of a new race. And though we often want to claim tomorrow will take care of itself, we are all fully aware that we just can’t sit and wait for tomorrow. So we are therefore in a frantic haste to figure tomorrow out before today even starts. And so, while the present glories are here, we let them wither with the thoughts of future worries. But can we truly stay without worrying about tomorrow? What will tomorrow bring?

Dear Diary, keep my thoughts as secret as news can be…
