Dear Diary,

Yesterday, I wished for a new beginning in my life. You know, if life had a reset button, I’d gladly hit it right now. But we have to live with the memories of past failures, and even memories of past memories, be they good or bad. Whilst there is no reset button, there is a restart button- for many have ceaselessly reiterated it and I’ve started to believe too that where there is life, there is hope. And if there is hope(for obviously, we are alive), we can choose to restart as many times as possible, ntil we untilbecome the best versions we want ourselves to be.

I always tell people that monotony is boring — if you get used to the same things over and over again, you stop finding them important or productive and you lose interest in them and in the cycle. Falling in and out of love is one of the most monotonous things this present generation does. After every 2 months, there is a new person to love and soon enough, they have left us with a bruise, making it harder for the next person to convince us, but surprisingly enough, they do and the cycle rebegins. And with each ending cycle, we trust it less. Monotony can also be living your life alone. But what is life without monotony? It means you won’t take the bus or brush your teeth everyday even if you wanted to, just because you want to break social conventions.

Crossing a one way street but looking both ways — that’s the perfect definition of most of humanity. And that is why people play the lottery, apply for new jobs whilst still in the comfort of their present ones, do the things they do… Because they don’t trust that the cars on the one-way street will come only in one direction — CLEVER. Life teaches us lessons every single time, the only problem is that we are too distracted to pay attention to the minutiae in these experiences.

CHRONICLE 10

These busy cycles of life got me

Like a hamster on its wheel.

And though I grumble and my words are revolting,

I am happy for these conventions that define me.

For without them, I’d be but a beast -

Rampaging and scavenging.

Dear Diary, keep my thoughts as secret as news can be…
