August 7th

Dear Diary,

I thought I could write everything here but as time passes, I discover that not everything should leave the confines of my troubled mind. And so, I lied when I said I’d tell you everything. But I’ll try to tell you most of everything. Even the confessor doesn’t get to hear some of our sins — it remains between us and our creator.

Is it possible to be with one person for all or almost all your life? Because I’ve seen my friends dating for 3, 4 or 5 years and I am much in awe of them and their resilience. At these moments, is it love steering the relationship or is there a greater force at play?

Is it just hard work and determination or is there also a pinch of luck? Because many try hard but just don’t get what others get easily. In today’s world, it is safe to say that connections and godfathers are that pinch of luck that most of us have.

These days, I am filled with a lot of mixed feelings — love and fear, hope and despair, joy and failure. I am experiencing some sort of midlife crisis that isn’t so bad. It’s a kind of limbo in which I am not asleep and not awake too.
