Poem 0002 — Late Goodbyes

And today,
We have grown out of the affection we once shared.
We thought this day would never come
We thought this pain would never fade
And yet, we have moved on.

It took time but it did come
The end is here
Like the day of reckoning
And there is nothing left to say
But “Goodbye my lover,
It was beautiful while it lasted”
