Poem 0003 - Behold

Destiny unfolds
And therein lies a treasure to behold
Yesterday, we were slaves
And today, we flee our cages
We break our chains
And in one refrain, we say
We are a new people
We won’t suffer these old sufferings.

And as we won’t suffer those old sufferings
So shall we not wear the old labels
We are a people reborn
And in the heat of it all
We’ve found the courage to be whole
Even when the broken pieces tell us NO.
