Who's next?

--

One who has never been king
Knows not of the burdens that come with it.
The troubles that weigh the crown to a suffering neck
That he who wields the sword begs to forget.

He who has never sat on the throne
Knows not the torments of badgering souls
Slain by the wielder of a mighty sword
Blessed with impunity to rule and protect all.

But when the hand that commands, trembles and falls,
Helter skelter they go to wear his crown
They dance and mourn in a crying fest
As they point to his heirs asking “Who’s next?”
